Taihoa (Cassytha paniculata) eavily fruiting - something I don't often see in this species. Images of ripe fruit. Plants parasitic in this instance on rawiri (Kunzea linearis).

Minute, hyperactive beetle noted scurrying about leaf litter under rawiri (Kunzea linearis). Very hard to get clear images of - these are the best I could do.

Commonly seen along roadsides as presumed 'wind breaks' and hedging. However, naturalising from these plantings from vegetative spread via stolons and broken portions of culms. Flowering extremely uncommon in New Zealand, and as far as I can tell viable seed is not formed here. Plants up to 3 m tall.

These images are of wild plants growing along roadside, having spread from slashed culms and portions of root stock dislodged by roadworks.
