Not sure this is a new bumble bee for me. Looks like stripes on back of the bum-2-3. It carried pollen and rested in shade to clean legs and underside. Yes first hot day in south garden. On purple alliums.

Yes it looks similar to the large Green Darner. This one is a beautifull bright green with black/white marks on tail. A good large size. Could be the female Eastern Pond Hawk! As in recent observations today July 9th.

Oh my gosh, so cute hugging the stamen on a crane'sbill geranium(xJohnson's Blue). Looks like sweat bee but has longer body curved inwards. Small head, eye looks black. Luck spotting with cell phone camera.

Enjoy these tiny blues- this female light colour with black dots, definite white fringe on hind wings, fine black margin, vivid dots same as photo in the ROM's Field Guide to butterflys of Ontario, pg. 212. Stood close to capture my treat.

This bumble bee was larger than some others close by on the Anise Hyssop collecting nectar. Could be the Brown-belted or the Eastern Bumble bee? Similar looking especialy in this pose looking through the wing colour!!

Oh the lovely small blue butterfly! Been watching so many small whites, yellow, butterflys this summer hoping to see these solid blue wings! Underside is a contrast in soft lt. grey, black dots cover wings with row of orange spots at side. Last blurred photo does show clear colouration, blue reverse on edges.

Wow, today there are so many of these busy bees!! With furrows, tiny stingless, etc. in garden on blooms. Never saw so many of same Striped Sweat bees at mine! Must be the season? Plus my organic practice.

Usually have many in the garden. This Veronica veronicastrum a great native plant for Bumble Bees.

2019 I had many all at once that had a distinct occure bull's eye on back of their heads! Will add later.
