Descripción

Woody shrub, >2m high with 1 fused petaloid whorl of perianth, not catkin-like, branches pliable; leaves ~5 cm elliptic-obovate, simple and entire, not aromatic; inflorescence axillary and terminal clusters of 3 flowers; flowers with bright yellow petaloid calyx with 4 lobes, lighter color at fused base, radially symmetric; corolla 0; stamens 8, well exserted, free, filaments not fused into tube around style; style 1, glabrous, slender, much longer than stamens; ovary superior.
