I've posted photos of this Screech Owl before but today, she really outdid herself with her daytime camouflage. She has wedged herself between a stick and an oak limb. But she forgot about her little ear tuft, which is in the sun! She has three(3) about-to-fledge owlets in a nest box about ten feet away. (Hays County)

I took a simple piece of tape, applied it to my forehead, removed it and placed it under a microscope. On the end of one of my hairs was this nice arachnid. First time trying it and it took under a minute to find it. I was very surprised!
