Me and my dad were moving the dirt around and filling in the holes where we dug up the gate posts and this poor little snake was trying to get out of the dirt pile and get out of the way. It's a little coral snake. Isn't it pretty? They do contain one of the most potent venoms. So do not even try to handle one. My dad carefully picked it up and it kept trying to get away so I took him and he settled down. I held it for a long while and then let him go somewhere safe. Occasionally it poked it's head out to see if it could get away or it was just looking around but it liked my warm hand so it stayed all snuggled up in there.
