1 adult sitting in nest, probably brooding a young at 3:12 pm. There was a worker sand-blasting the white round metal tank. This was a very noisy operation, probably an activity incompatible with the bald eagle reproductive season. Tank is within 200 yards of nest tree. Adult eagle was facing the noise.

I've identified this as a black bear because I know grizzlies aren't supposed to be in Colorado anymore. I know size and color are bad indicators of bear species since blacks can also be brown and large. But, this is a very, very large brown (color) bear. Maybe it's the cinnamon subspecies (Ursus americanus cinnamomum). I don't see the grizzly's prominent shoulder hump or dish-face, so I'm going with American Black Bear (Ursus americanus).

Hello! While shopping for plants I spotted a large lizard who seemed out of place. I notified store employees but they said this lizard was unfamiliar. I followed her around for quite a while observing her behavior. She seemed to be healthy, active, and eating (bugs?) as she trotted around the area. She’s fast! Before I knew it she was gone. I’m sure she was still there but I could not find her, being surrounded by plants. She was maybe 12" long and like 1.5" wide. Her head had what appeared to be turquoise markings. After returning home I googled and found Travis Laduc with UT Austin who pointed me in your direction to share my sighting. (Thanks, Travis!) I’m sorry that my pictures/video are not very clear but this was so unexpected. I’m happy to answer any questions. I have a video but can’t figure out how to upload here.

This male mountain lion - a migrant from South Dakota - was infamously struck 41-miles east of Greenwich, CT. This was the first verifiable documentation of a cougar in Connecticut since the 1890s. The attributed location and time is from where it was struck by a car. There is no breeding population of cougars in New England, though they historically occupied every continental US state.
