This was the day five, November 16, 2013, of our Subansiri River Angling (for Mahseer), Rafting, and nature observation trip along the river. To avoid a stretch of rough rapids from our camp site down stream of Subansiri River we seniors (50+) were told by the organisers to wade through this waist-deep tributary, create some tracks on the opposite side and join the raft team downstream. While tearing the thick bush, climbing up and down the terrain to gain some claustrophobic inches ahead, I suddenly spotted these beautiful strange vine flowers.
The flowers were approximately the size of my thumb. I have never seen this before, so out of curiosity I took some photos of the flowers, the vines and the area.

The jumping spider family (Salticidae) contains over 600 described genera and more than 5800 described species, making it the largest family of spiders with about 13% of all species. Jumping spiders have some of the best vision among arthropods and use it in courtship, hunting, and navigation. Although they normally move unobtrusively and fairly slowly, most species are capable of very agile jumps, notably when hunting, but sometimes in response to sudden threats or crossing long gaps.

This is definitely the smallest jumping spider I have ever seen...!!!
This restless little thing was only traversing through the crevices on the tree bark. Very difficult to spot again if you lose track of him....
Any info would be greatly appreciated... :-)
