Locally abundant on fine silica sand along lake margin in sites that would be flooded over in winter. This is an example of the 'green morph' of this species as it occurs in New Zealand. At this location i have only ever seen the 'green morph' the next lake over it is the more usual 'red morph'.

After a lot of comparison I believe I may have found another colony of C. sactigeorgianus. I will check with Carlos after I have posted the photo's. These wre the only colony I found still in flower in the Reserve the other many colonies were well finished having swollen ovaries already.

Pycroft's Petrels visited us four times over the past two weeks. First arrived during a storm and then returned also during fine weather. Spent one night burrowed under our caravan, hence the handling photo.
