This strange Erica was identified by Ted Oliver as a "Chimera" probably a mutation of Erica syngenesia!
Reseeding shrub to 40 cm tall. Area burnt during Knysna fire in June 2017. Locally abundant, but sadly site is overgrown with invasive alien plants (Hakea, Pines, etc.).
SM419. 30cm ss mb, rounded shrublet; flowers bright yellow, short, constricted at base with lobes flaring. E slope in rock crevice at base of sandstone ridge, adjacent to shale band. Erica serrata present.
