These skinks were found in the sandy dunes of Griffith Bay in Luderitz in southwestern Namibia. The specimen on the right displays the typical coloration of the species while the specimen on the left shows the less common melanistic form.

Lurked about for 10 minutes waiting to see if anything would break the knot. Already established when I got there. As I gave up and stepped off the terrace, there was a loud plop as both fell to the floor and ran off in opposite directions, apparently unharmed. Territorial dispute to be continued ..?

No Hollywood ending for this Vine
760mm Vine found dead under tree. Biting itself in death throes. No apparent injuries except where chewed itself, exposing prey in parts through (thin) skin.
Disected it at home, revealed gravid Treefrog, swallowed backwards.
Really like an explanation for death?

Lots of hissing. Orange tipped tongue.
Adjacent to footpath on recently trimmed vegetation. Slithered approx. 1m up rock before returning to vegetation at base of rock.

Found in the Swartberg area close to Prince Albert. Had 8 embryos with no surrounding eggs, as well as 3 flatworms and 2 roundworms inside. Has a notched tongue and four vestigial limbs with underlying bone.
