This was the absolute highlight of my day. One of my students spotted this gorgeous snake coiled up underneath some blackberry right next to the path . . . AFTER a whole classroom full of us had walked by (within a couple of feet at most) without noticing the snake there. The snake remained motionless long enough for us all to get a nice look. We also made sure that the preserve manager knew the location of the snake, to let other preserve visitors know to take care.
