Noctuid moth, perhaps an Arches, Orthodes species? (wingspan ~35 mm)

The small yellow flower there looks somewhat like a violet. Not entirely sure what it is. Ignore the larger plant obscuring it.

Found at the edge of a parking lot.
This looks like the Common Checkered-Skipper to me, but the place where I was located is a cross-over zone White C-S and Tropical C-S, so I appreciate any affirmation.
