family Myrtaceae: oil gland somewhat visible on leaves, with smell present when nearby. Dry, capsular fruit
genus Gaudium: mostly one flower per flowering shoot, short pedicel
species laevigatum: deciduous 6-11locular fruit, leaves dark green.
Other distinct features are ~4 meter height of short tree, flat-topped fruit with typical shape.
