Caught and released. It was in my driveway wet, immobile, and stunned from what I assume to be a predatory injury. I was able to pick it up and dry it off with a small towel and place into a container to warm up. I placed those pictures here last. It seemed to have a superficial injury to the ear. Once it was dry and warmed up, it ate some foraged earthworms and wet kitten food. I kept it contained until the rain passed and then released it. It had returned to a very lively state of health and was able to move very quickly. It had a voracious appetite and was able to kill and eat earthworms very well. Although I was cautious and admit afraid of being bitten, it didn't attempt to bite me when cleaning it up. I also did not want to forcefully handle this wee creature or cause any further injury.
