At UV light sheet (running a LepiLED). Recording of male call made in captivity.
Found calling in a forest gully. Recorded call (not the greatest quality) is given at the end of the photos.
~5mm body length. Small adult cricket!
Multiple males heard calling amongst overgrown grass. Behaviour suggests not C. semivittatus(they are usually more wary & often short-winged)& is of a slimmer build than the latter species mentioned. Call is monotonous & constant with no tune change, unlike C. semivittatus that has calls broken into sets(long entry then group of set/dotted notes).
