A few of the 125 Common Mergansers we saw; I think these are all female. There were only four males in breeding plumage. Amazing to watch them racing over the water and diving to get fish. One photo shows a fish escaping from the serrated bill.

A few of the female Green-winged Teals in the lagoon.
One of about 15 Ruby-crowned Kinglets darting about in the willows and conifers by the trail. This was the only one who paused for a photo. Some were singing more loudly than usual.
About 150 Black Turnstones were chattering loudly on the end of the linear dock and an adjacent platform.
One appears to have been banded.

San Francisco. A group of at least 7-8. Difficult to count as they were scattered after being frightened by off-leash dogs.
