Fronds erect to suberect, coriaceous, stipe proximally paleate, lamina narrowly oblong, to 1.4 m, pinnate, sterile pinnae subsessile, entire, fertile pinnae subsessile to shortly petiolate. Sori extending most of the length of fertile pinnae, indusium lacerate. Grows in exposed damp places. This was on the edge of the Afr-temperate forest patch at Tonnelbos

Blechnum capense nvb

This is often the dominant fern on the banks of the Southern Cape Rivers together with Todea barbara. It^s a very variable species. The stipe is straw-coloured and set with scales. It reaches a height of about 1.6m

Fairy pine forest - Kogelberg

Growing in and next to a shallow sloot beside the road. Max height about 25 cm. Some plants make one or two long branches. The one in pic 3 seemed to have rooted where it touched the ground.
