We gathered with around 25 other iNatters for the Big Thicket BioBlitz -- it was the best time ever to explore with fellow naturalists.
Today many of us went to the Turkey Trail and saw some really neat plants.
Many of these ID's are tentative -- I'll have to work a bunch on them later. Lots of new things for me! :)
Very large freshwater mussel --dry box is 7-1/2 x 5" for scale--alive and well--returned immediately to same location after taking photos...

Bright white or yellowish flowers on tall stalk. Leaves look grass-like. Open pine woodland with sweetgum, beautyberry, and blackberry.

Located on private, woodland property. Wild specimens. Observed over a two period. Last seen 4/21/2020. At present (April 2020) there are four separate plants growing within approximately twenty feet of each other.
