Growing scattered in grass near Pinus ponderosa, Picea engelmannii, and Populus fremontii. Caps dry, glabrous, flouresceing reddish-purple under a 365 nm UV light. up to 61.2 mm wide and 31.5 mm tall. Gills adnate, fluorescing yellow. Stems dry, flourescing reddish-purple, up 34.0 mm long and 16.4 mm wide. Cap and stem context white, fluorescing yellow. Odor not distinctive. Taste farinose with a rich, umami component.
