Found in both shallow and slightly deeper water
Found while pulling out weeds, burrowing. Some kind of grub? Maggot?, but I don't know what kind of bug it's going to become. Couldn't find anything visually similar in suggestions
Lark Sparrows are gorgeous. Too bad this one wasn't really into sitting still on an exposed branch for very long.
The beetle-like insect was moving across the cool rocks slowly. The outer "shell" was mostly dark gray, but light red striping was seen along the edges. These liked the shady corridors of the Rocky Desert Scrub.
