Sharing the trail with a most impressive snake
2" long, saw the redish underwings in flight, hiding on Salix sp
First time seeing them on the preserve. Probably saw about 6 individual this day. Smaller than the Cloudless sulfur (Phoebis sennae)
Well camouflaged in the middle of this willow tree. When I first saw it, I flushed it out of somewhere and I thought it was a Common Buckeye (which I have never seen in this area) because it was so colorful. Saw it land on this willow and noticed it was a moth I've seen among these willows three times recently before. It's large and triangular, about 2" long.
