Mission Trails: Nature Contest
Had a great time hiking today with my camera. Spent at least 2 hours moving, identifying, photographing. Still having trouble distinguishing between California Flat topped Buckwheat and Chemise. Need to compare samples side by side.
Saw a snake on the path - what a surprise. Luckily? not a rattlesnake, though I probably would've tried to photograph it anyway. Instead it was a Two Striped Garter Snake.
Must bring water next time.

Folks here say no, not 2ST. Garter Sn., but a gopher snake. Hmmm.
