Field Journal 4: White Oak

Date: March 29, 2021
Location: John H. Chafee Rome Point Preserve, Narragansett Rhode Island, USA
Time: 12:45 pm- 1:00pm EST
Habitat: rocky, woods, it was a place that had hiking trails, so there were a lot of people walking around.

In the other location that I observed in the Point Preserve in Narragansett, White Oak trees were abundant in the given area. Some were taller, and others were shorter, and all of their leaves have fallen and surrounded the trees. The trees had a smaller diameter than other trees in the area, and a lot of the trees had either no branches off the trees or did but were not long and looked strong and supportive. The trees also had a layer of lichens on them.

Descripción

There were a lot of these trees in the same area as each other and all of their leaves have fallen off. All of the leaves were surrounding the tree. The tree seemed to have a pretty small diameter and was pretty tall in comparison to the other trees in the area.
