Id Projects Fall 2021
Going to start a journal that will mostly be what identification projects I am working on. Starting by putting up the most recent post from my profile.
Identification projects: species where I am trying to go through observations and contribute identifications and annotations to get more observations up to research grade. Currently working on Pacific Banana Slug (done with BC/WA/OR/CA). Now finished going through Banana Slugs category to id the Pacific Banana Slug in BC/WA/OR and some of Northern CA so am taking break from that for a while although I still check back to for new observations from time to time. Still working through Isabella Tiger Moth (lots of little woolly bears to go, but have moved my focus to the western states). Have been noticing the same type of caterpillars keep getting misidentified as isabella tiger moth I need to do some work figuring out what they are so that I can provide guidance to others on properly identifying them. Bigleaf Maple in BC/WA/OR (still lots to do there). Got Salal and Pacific Madrone mostly done for the PNW. Started doing some invasive species including scot's broom and Rubus bifrons in BC/WA/OR. I also try to contribute identifications when I have the knowledge to observations in the area of Oregon I currently run around in (Douglas and Josephine Counties).
