20 dead plants. Undulating terrain but generally gently SW alder/maple forest. Dead patch surrounded by apparently healthy near-solid P. munitum ground layer on all aspects.

Just a bit above this site, the plants suddenly have glaucous undersides (= R. leucodermis), with no intermediates. Unfortunately I did not see them until after I had missed the pullouts... 62689495 is from a ways higher up than the first white-underside plants.

Appears to be this species rather than S. pallidus or S. microcarpus reported for the area, but rather too wet to access.
