Canine appearance suspect Fox tracks, 3.5cm long x 3cm wide, 8cm trail width
Elbroch lists for Common Gray Fox front tracks:
3.5-4.8cm Long
3-4.4 cm Wide
7.6-11.4 Trail width during walk
4.8-10.2cm Trail width during trot
and for Kit Fox front tracks:
2.5-4.3cm Long
2.4-3.8cm wide
3.2-6cm trail width
The trail width measurement falls outside the range for the Kit Fox. The area has a lot of flat sandy areas which might host some Kit Foxes, but there are plenty of trees and greenery as well typical of Gray Fox habitats.
ID is Gray Fox tracks.
