Is it a Cuckoo Wasp of some sort? Observed continually returning to this mud nest approx 8 x 5cm diameter (simillar appearance to a potato except its dried mud) attached to native limebush. Insect kept returning every couple minutes inserting it rump into hole.

Scat approx 50-70mm under low gate making me think something was perched above. Corrently experiencing exceptional season, abundant feed, Raptors and Waterbirds.
