Flipped these 2 tiny slenders under a rock in a dried out drainage with some moisture still under the rocks. sorry I didn't get good pictures of belly, but my ID in the field was black-bellied due to black belly and tiny legs. I hope I'm right because this is a subspecies lifer!

Last herp outing of 2014, was hoping for arboreal salamanders, but no luck, did flip 5 slenders though so didn't get skunked. First one flipped and photoed.

My main target for the hike was newts and my friend had just seen them here a week earlier so we went back in hopes they were still out. When we got to stream sure enough we found a bunch swimming in the pools below the waterfalls. Lifer! We got in the water and swam with them, so cool wish I had an underwater camera. We must have seen over 20, they were in almost every pool, but only took a handful of pics.
