This caterpillar hanging on a Japanese honeysuckle aka Lonicera japonica vine. I couldn’t tell if it was feeding or getting ready to pupate. There was frass under it but there were also other dis-similar caterpillars nearby that may have made the frass. The stems this one was on is partly dead.

This caterpillar was HUGE. Like probably 5” long. I wish I had measured it. It was living between layers of cardboard I left outside. I noticed it has hairs along the lower part of the body near its feet.

Could be Mimosa texana and Mimosa borealis var. texana. Though it wasn’t blooming when I took these photos I remember it has pink flowers.
