Dorsal view shows the elytral tubercules and non-globose pronotum, which distinguish it from R. humeralis.

Resting on top of a half-knoecked-over nest. Not aggressive if approached slowly and the nest was not disturbed.

Couroupita guianensis in bloom. Visited by several species of bees.

A resting hoatzin. There was a large group of them, all of them loud and shy. They wouldn't let me get closer than 8-10 meters.

A recently molted Polychrus marmoratus basking on the side of a trail.

A group of Siseme pallas puddling on the edge of a creek. When disturbed, they flew away and came back in under a minute.

Feeding on what remained of a half opened can of tuna. There were at least 6 different beetles in the can.

Large timber fly seen at night around a light. The lens cap has a diameter of 6 cm. Species determined using FC Val's "Systematics and Evolution of the Pantophthalmidae", 1976

Attracted to light trap. Stayed for roughly 75 minutes.
