Settle an argument, please! I say this is a first-year ring-billed gull, and she thinks it's a glaucous glaucous-winged gull, which would be unusual in that area. Thanks in advance!

Totally not sure about this, as I know diddly about fungi, but there was an article about toxic mushrooms growing in the Tahoe basin so I thought I'd post the pictures.

Sorry I don't have photos of the stem or gills, but the cap was nearly flush with the ground. And now, I'm glad I didn't dig the thing up.

Every summer the wetlands off the trail turn into a meadow, and fills with huge wild tiger lilies. They are huge, the plants are 4-5 feet high at their highest point, and the flowers are maybe 3" in diameter and 4" from the top of the petals to the end of the stamens.

Of course it's hard to tell with so little left, but I'm pretty sure it's a shark and not a seal. A largish one, the remains are about six feet long with no head, so the living animal was, I don't know, about eight feet long?

Sorry about the picture quality, but there's worse on Inat! And even if the pictures are out of focus, you can still see the eagle-sized beak, more white on the tail than juvenile ospreys or golden eagles ever have, and a dusting of white on the back that is only seen in baldies.
