Large groups of these small shore birds were seen probing through the sand with their beaks. Occasionally they would all fly together in a flock and move locations.

Descripción

This torrey pine was observed on a less protected side of a bluff. As you can see most growth is limited to the bottom few meters because of this exposure condition. Also you can see evidence of bark-beetle disturbance when looking closely at the bark.
