Field Notes - We found this washed up on the beach after a couple of days of big southerly swells. It was about 20cm in diameter and it appears to have a top side and an underside with a mouth and tentacles on the underside. We observed it change colour red to green and then red again when it was washed over by a wave. it did float and at a guess it is some kind of an anemone? Similar colors to a Waratah anemone, but much larger then any I had encountered.

Field Notes - We were amazed to see so many lyrebirds together. (we counted 5 or 6, but there could have been more). We observed the young being feed and trained by the female. We also saw two males running around and displaying their range of bird songs. Is this normal behaviour? Always thought they where very solitary and the young fended for themselves after hatching from the mound?
