Presidio Hills at Spring, pulled about a dozen, which was as many as I could find. Not yet in seed. Balled them up in a pile of purple velvet grass, and left at the site. A small but significant patch of Bermuda grass is also spreading here and could also be dealt with.

It’s just very invasive, in the early stages. Hoping to get NPS or other site managers on this.

Apparently unknown at this Corte Madera marsh location and is alarming considering this invasive plant rapidly is colonizing both disturbed compacted upland Bayshore, as well as Tideline habitat, usually only available to salt tolerant halophytes. We worked to cut seed heads off of all of the ones we could find to keep them from spreading further. Ultimately, there’s a lot of digging out of roots, and probably decades of follow up if this invasive grass is not to take over and form large monocultures.

Género ChlorisObserv.
josiahclarkDescripción
Unfamiliar with the genera and not sure. Any help much appreciated. Creates vast monocultures in disturbed pasture areas near the Los Petreles reserve in the highlands of San Cristobol island. Will be collecting specimens today for the university to help with. Its creeping quickly into the pristine gulleys, following the footsteps of researchers and land managers. Working to map and control this and other invasive species in the vicinity of Galapagos Petrel breeding sites.

Isolated patch in an otherwise intact area. Hidden Valley Loop, Trail behind the Clem Miller Center. It might be just an hour or so of work from what I saw.

Isolated patch on the Bolinas Ridge. Would be great if someone could get it before it spreads more.
