Found this mustelid (marten?) carcass in the middle of an occasionally used hiking trail, partially frozen in the ground and covered in snow. Evidence of red fox feeding was present. This carcass was not present on the trial just 3-4 days before.

American red squirrel feeding sign on (possibly) Douglas fir cones. This is a huge deposit of stripped cones, which I believe were revealed following a warm rain event that melted most of the snow in the area.
