This black crowned night heron was observed at lettuce lake park, an upland forest habitat. The crown and back of the bird is black, with the rest of the body being white and gray. There were 2 white plumes on the back of its head that stand out from the black head.

This caterpillar was found on the sidewalk on the University of
South Florida campus. It was about an inch long, almost camouflaged with the sidewalk. It had white hair like fuzz around it, with some black. There was 2 antennae in the front and back and few orange spots along its back.
