Determination by Dr M.A.M. Renner who noted that this particular collection has features that fit Plagiochila reischeckiana Steph. sensu Engel. However, in his treatment that species is merged into P. subfasciculata Colenso. This particular collection is the only one he has seen that fits exactly the concept Dr J. Engel has of P reischeckiana.
