Observaciones de rozsawyer

I found this lizard lying completely still in this position along the freeway-side sidewalk of Coolidge Ave. in Culver City. With the tip of its tail missing and the remaining end necrotized, I was unsure if the animal was still alive. After taking the picture, I took a tissue from my bag and reached toward the animal. The animal tracked my hand with its eye and head as I moved and when I approached its face, it licked the tissue. Otherwise it didn't move. I moved my hand again and the lizard stood up, showing its legs to be undamaged, and scurried back under the fence to the bushes after stopping to stare at me one more time.
