Bright orange-brown head, relatively large, body with dark longitudinal markings. Prolegs on (I believe) abdominal segments 2-8 & 10, segments with 6 annulets and without any distinctive bumps or setae. Found in whitecedar forest, drying off on a tent after rain. Most likely host is probably birch.

A small one in the road. Helped it across (carefully). It was only about eight inches long.

Puzzled by the netting of my Malaise trap. I'm not sure how long she was here when I arrived, but she couldn't work out how to get around the the inside of the trap. I took a few photos then used two sticks to raise the net and gently guide her beneath.

Resting on (I think) hazel, which is not a known host plant, and probably just a spot to land, as I also observed them on the leaves of a different young tree nearby. Two female and three male specimens collected & deposited at York University.

Spotted this little friend crossing the road, so I pulled over to move it to safety. Took a brief moment for a quick photo and let it go on its way safely down the slope from the road.

Notably larger than deer droppings. Black part of key is about 3 cm wide by 3.5 cm long. Droppings therefore about 2.8 cm x 1.8 cm (more than an inch long by ~3/4 in wide).
