I started birding in Fall of 2009 when the Ivory Gull came to Cape May, NJ. Over the next few years, I got out into the field more and started to travel. It was an easy transition to developing an interest in butterflies and native plant gardening with lots of host plants. If you build it, the butterflies and other bugs will come. Over a 10 year period, my yard in NJ hosted 55 species of butterflies and life cycles of 20 species. I have since sold my house in Cape May and now live in Chester County, PA. I was excited to find some great county parks in the area to continue my journey of learning. I am interested in all nature, plants and bugs.
