Hello, I am a Syrphidologist with over 30 years of field experience, mainly but not exlusive in Europe. At the age of 15 I wondered around parks in Amsterdam discovering the exciting world of insects! I soon started to compare my collected specimens with the specimens from the Zoological Museum in Amsterdam (ZMA). At a later age I worked in the ZMA from time to time (mainly collection maintenance work).
