I'm a Hoosier working as a wildlife technician in the Texas Hill Country after returning to school from my first career (as a teacher) to study environmental science and public affairs.

I've spent recent seasons with federal and state agencies monitoring endangered Piping Plovers in the Michigan UP, multitasking as an urban wildlife intern in Austin, and collecting tissue samples for detection of chronic wasting disease in south central Texas cervids.

I'm practicing the bird IDs usually but still learning many of the plants and insects for the first time, so really I appreciate identifications, corrections, and diagnostic comments on my observations.
