I'm a long term volunteer and Sustainability Coordinator at Sadhana Forest, Auroville, Tamil Nadu, in the south of India. Sadhana Forest is a reforestation project, which practices water conservation and sustainability, while maintaining a completely vegan community. We realized we couldn't practice sustainable living with our hands, while doing the opposite with our mouths by eating unsustainably. Animal agriculture uses about 70% of all agricultural land and is responsible for 18 percent of greenhouse gas emissions, more than the combined exhaust from all transportation.

Over the years the animals have begun to return to the land that was once completely deforested. My hope is to help identify the various species in this area, while contributing to the amazing community of iNaturalist!
