Though I’m a linguistic data scientist by day, I am a recent graduate of Kennesaw State University where I performed undergraduate research studying the phylogeography of Appalachian Slimy Salamanders, more specifically the 𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘥𝘰𝘯 𝘨𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘴𝘶𝘴 species complex with specialized focus on 𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘥𝘰𝘯 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦. Most of my work dealt with deciphering cryptic morphological and genetic species boundaries within the Plethodon genus using next-gen DNA sequencing technologies and analyses. My general interests in herpetology have special focus on the biodiversity, biogeography, phylogeny, behavior, and natural history of Dendrobatids, Hylids, Gekkonids, Anguids, Skinks, and Plethodontids. I am also highly interested in studying Cnidarians of all sorts and am fascinated by marine invertebrates. Freshwater ecology has another very special place in my heart. In addition to my studies, I'm an aquarist, hobby-level botanist, and nature lover at heart.
