Fisherman, turned nature-lover, turned professional ecologist. I have an interest and knowledge of fish (minnows, game fish and other near-shore species), birds, reptiles / amphibians and to a lesser degree trees and wildflowers. I am an avid birder but post most of my bird observations on eBird.

Professionally I am the Park Ecologist at Thousand Islands National Park of Canada, where I'm involved in forest, wetland and stream conservation programs. I also have the privilege to monitor and help recover rare reptile and plant species. I coordinate the Thousand Islands Christmas Bird Count, the Thousand Islands Near-shore Fish Community Survey and an Ontario Nocturnal Owl Survey route.

I'm hoping to learn more about Ontario moth and butterfly populations as well as improving my knowledge of species outside of Ontario.
