The fauna and flora of the Conservancy are naturally occurring and home to some extremely rare species.
Home to more than 230 bird species some of which one can see are Knysna Lourie, Narina Trogon, Trumpeter Hornbill, Brown Robin, Long-crested Eagle, Black Crake, African Rail, Fish Eagle, Grass Owl, Marsh Owl, African Wood Owl and much more. It is rated in the top ten birding spots in the Eastern Cape
