I am a Microbiologist using Biomolecular Engineering and Protein Biochemistry approaches to understand how Bacteria work and use this knowledge to solve global problems. Bacteria dominate Earth and regulate myriad homeostatic functions of our Body. My current project aims to dissect the function of the Molecular Machines Bacteria use to build their Cell Wall. Many of the proteins involved in Cell Wall biogenesis are the targets of our most successful Antibiotics, underlining their importance. Currently I am working at Tom Bernhardt's lab at Harvard Medical School.
