I am a retired biochemist with a strong interest in natural history. Since retirement I have focused on a study of moth biodiversity in and around the Gila National Forest in SW New Mexico. I have a created a website called "Southwestern Moths" where I show voucher photographs of moths I've identified in that region. The same website has voucher photos of some moths from the Texas Hill Country. The goal of the website is to increase awareness of the complex and beautiful insect biodiversity that can be found in the ecosystems of a small region that has not yet been heavily impacted by human activities. I am in the process of copying the photos on the website to iNaturalist so they will be useful to a larger audience.
