A supplemental inaturalist account Pat Deacon (@pwdeacon) set up to help compile historical records of rare/significant flora in Waterloo Region, Ontario as part of an ongoing project to relocate/track records and add recent observations.

Records are primarily those of William Herriot (late 1800's-early 1900's) and Fred Montgomery (1930's-1940's). Other records come from John Macoun, G. Prescott, G. Frankton, J. Stroud and J.H. Soper. Recent (post 1975) records, which informed the 1976 Region of Waterloo Plant List are largely attributed to Craig Campbell, Larry Lamb, Bob Dorney and Paul Eagles.

Botanical hotspots based seem to include: Paradise Lake and the Laurel Creek Headwaters, the Footbridge below Galt, Homer Watson Park/German Mills, the Conestogo River between Wallenstein and Conestogo, the Nith River between Philipsburg to Haysville and basically any rail line or wetland feature between Ayr and Branchton (North Dumfries Township).
