I am a botanist/arborist/environmental consultant living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was born in San Francisco, and grew up in Tiburon, Marin County, California, home of three exceedingly rare serpentine endemic plant species: Tiburon mariposa lily, Tiburon jewelflower, and Tiburon paintbrush. I always felt drawn to plants while growing up hiking around Ring Mountain, Mt Tamalpais, and Point Reyes, but the realization that so many rare plants were endemic to the San Francisco Bay Area where I grew up really sparked my passion for learning more about CA native flora and vegetation ecology. I have a B.S. in Conservation and Resource Studies, with a Minor in Forestry from UC Berkeley. My botany comfort zone is northern California, but I occasionally work in southern California. I am interested in documenting rare and/or endemic species of the California Floristic Province as much as I can. I am also interested in the flora of Wyoming, where my Mom lives, and the flora of any wilderness I hike through, and any place I travel to.
